The Center offers a variety of services, programs, and resources that can help students start on a path to academic success or get back on the path to success. We also house the Exploratory Studies Program, where students who are undecided or have multiple interests can exercise their intellectual curiosity through a number of programs and classes designed to help determine their best course of study.

Departmental Study Tables

Study Tables are group walk-in tutoring sessions that meet regularly at a specific time and location. Study Tables are coordinated by each respective department, and each is staffed by student moderators who have been chosen by faculty based on their performance in a specific subject area. Students may come and go freely from Study Tables. While there, they have access to a student moderator for questions and assistance.

Modern Language Center

The Modern Language Center hosts several events for our language students, but is also open to everyone. Tutoring tables will have open hours for students to come and go and get assistance with their coursework in Chinese, French, German, and Spanish.

Writer’s Studio Peer Tutoring Program

The Butler University Writers’ Studio offers free, 45-minute writing consultations at any stage of the writing process – from understanding an assignment to final draft. Our undergraduate and graduate tutors will assist you with writing assignments across the curriculum..

Butler University Libraries make available the materials needed to support study, teaching, and research in all areas of intellectual endeavor pursued at Butler. The combined holdings of the Butler Libraries include online access to approximately 800,000 e-books, 275 databases, 300,000 electronic journals, and 250,00 streaming media titles, plus more than 200,000 print materials, 18,000 audiovisual materials, and more than 17,000 musical scores physically shelved at the three branches.
