Our Club Sports programs are where student-driven passion meets competition, offering a range of teams that practice consistently and compete against other universities on a regular basis.

The Butler Baseball Club is a newly established competitive team, officially part of the NCBA Division 2. Our team roster currently consists of 25 members. We play 18 games per season with the opportunity to qualify for a world series in the spring. Dues are $500 per person, covering travel, fields, apparel, and other expenses. The Butler Bass Fishing Club participates in local and national tournaments and organizes recreational events for anglers of all levels. Our roster includes 20 members, and we are actively seeking new leadership. If you are interested in taking a leadership role, please reach out via our Instagram.
Butler Men’s Club Basketball competes regionally, playing 14 to 20 games a season. Our team made the NCBBA playoffs in 2022 and plays against schools throughout the Midwest. The current roster has 14 players. For updates, follow us on Instagram: @butlermcbb.
Butler Women’s Club Basketball is a competitive team for skilled players seeking a fun and challenging environment. We host home tournaments and travel to other campuses. Dues are typically $60/year, and accommodations can be made for financial difficulties. Our team practices twice weekly, with a roster of 12-15 players. Butler Club Curling partners with Circle City Curling Club, practicing weekly for two hours and holding joint events with other universities. Beginners are welcome, and no prior experience is required. There is a one-time $50 membership fee to Circle City. For more information, we recommend creating a Butler email account to simplify contact.
Club Esports at Butler University offers competitive teams in a variety of games. Students interested in competing in other games are welcome to create new teams.Commitment levels vary depending on the team, and all teams can receive funding from the club to attend in-person tournaments, primarily held in nearby states throughout the school year. While no prior experience is required to join, tryouts are held for team placement.
Current teams include Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Chess, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and iRacing.
Butler Club Golf offers both competitive and recreational teams. The competitive team requires mandatory participation in events, while the recreational team allows for flexibility. We compete in three tournaments each semester. Dues include a $50 one-time fee and $50 per tournament. Each event consists of two rounds of 18 holes with range balls and a golf cart. Practices are held weekly on Friday afternoons.
Butler Club Hockey competes in ACHA Division III, facing off against top teams in the ICHC such as Indiana, Purdue, Xavier, Miami, Cincinnati, and Trine. The team holds two one-hour practices each week, with annual dues ranging from $1,300 to $1,500. Our roster includes 27 players who travel throughout the Midwest for competitive games. @butler_club_hockey
Butler Men’s Club Lacrosse, established in 2007, competes in both the fall and spring seasons, with the spring being the primary season. Practices are held twice a week, and dues are $100/year. The team has 20-30 players and travels throughout the Midwest. This year marks our first season with a coach, transitioning from a player-run structure.
Butler Women’s Lacrosse has introduced a $25 player fee this season, with the expectation that each member attends at least one practice per week. The team has games scheduled both locally and regionally. We have also purchased new sticks and uniforms, with plans to acquire goalie equipment.
Butler Run Club welcomes runners of all abilities and levels of experience. Our members race throughout the Midwest, with some qualifying for regionals and nationals. Dues are approximately $50 per semester. The current roster consists of 30+ members, with 10 actively racing. The club was founded in 2020 and continues to grow.
The Butler Men’s Club Soccer Team consists of 24 members and competes against universities in Indiana and Ohio during the fall semester. Tryouts begin early in the school year, with dues around $200. For updates, follow us on Instagram @butlerclubsoccer or reach out via email.
Butler Women’s Club Soccer Team offers a highly competitive, non-NCAA athletic experience. Our team has 22-23 members, practices three times a week, and competes throughout the Midwest in September and October. Dues are $110 per player. Butler Club Swimming has been a part of Butler’s sports community since 2008. Our members regularly qualify for the College Club Swimming National Championships, and we have an 80-member roster. Dues are $80 for the academic year, and the team travels nationwide to compete.
Butler Club Tennis offers both competitive and non-competitive options. The competitive team competes nationally, while the non-competitive team stays local. Dues are $250/year for competitive players and $200/year for non-competitive. Both teams practice twice a week and enjoy team dinners and free apparel.
Butler Men’s Ultimate Frisbee Club has 45 members across two teams: an A team that competes nationally and a B team that competes locally. Dues are approximately $300/year, subject to change. The club, founded in 2003 and active since 2010, made regional semifinals last season and previously qualified for nationals.
Founded in 2023, Butler Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Club had a strong inaugural season, finishing third in the conference. Open to all skill levels, our club fosters a fun and inclusive environment. Butler Club Water Polo is a new addition to the campus, practicing once or twice a week. The club alternates between team practices and joint practices with other local polo clubs. We also compete in several tournaments each semester. Dues are $20/year, and the current roster includes 10 members.
